Concrete, brick and timber around here collect a specific mix of grime: red dust off the paddocks and unsealed roads, mould and lichen on the shaded southern side, tannin stains under gums, and a black film on the driveway that has crept up so slowly nobody noticed.

Marx Maintenance pressure washes surfaces across Albury, Wodonga and the surrounding towns, using the right pressure and the right technique for each material — because the wrong nozzle on soft render, painted weatherboard or old decking does real damage.

Concrete driveway being pressure washed showing clean and dirty contrast

Surfaces we clean

Driveways and paths

Concrete, exposed aggregate, pavers and brick. Oil spots and tyre marks treated before washing.

Patios, pergolas and outdoor areas

Entertaining areas brought back before Christmas, or after a summer of use.

Decks and timber

Low pressure and the correct technique — blasting a deck at full pressure raises the grain and wrecks it. Often the first step before re-oiling.

House exteriors and soft washing

Brick, render, weatherboard and Colorbond, washed at a pressure that cleans without forcing water behind cladding.

Roofs and gutters

Moss, lichen and built-up grime removed. Pairs naturally with a gutter clean in the same visit.

Fences and retaining walls

Colorbond, timber and brick. Often the single biggest visual improvement on a property for the money.

Machinery, plant and vehicles

Tractors, mowers, trailers, floats and utes. Also pre-sale and pre-service cleaning.

Solar panel and tank exteriors

Cleaned carefully with the right pressure — and importantly, done before a tank clean rather than after.

What it costs

Most pressure washing is quoted per job. A standard suburban driveway usually sits around $200–$450 depending on size and how bad it is. Whole-house exterior washes and large areas are quoted after a look. Booking it alongside gutter cleaning or a tank clean saves a separate call-out.

Questions

Pressure Washing — FAQ

Will it damage my deck or paintwork?

Not if it is done properly. Different surfaces need different pressures, nozzles and distances, and some need a soft-wash chemical approach rather than pressure at all. That judgement is most of the skill in this work.

Do you need to use my water?

Usually yes — pressure washing uses a fair bit of water and a tap on site is the practical option. On rural properties running low on tank water, talk to us first and we will work something out.

How often should a driveway be done?

Every one to three years for most properties. Shaded, south-facing and tree-covered areas need it more often because that is where the mould and lichen take hold.

Can you clean the roof at the same time as the gutters?

Yes, and it makes sense to. Everything on the roof ends up in the gutters, so doing them in one visit is cheaper and the result lasts longer.
